G = Gingerbread Cookies

½ Cup of Sugar
½ Cup of Shortening
¼ Cup of Dark Molasses
¼ Cup of Water
¾ Tsp. of Salt
¾ Tsp. of Ginger
½ Tsp. of baking Soda
¼ Tsp. of ground allspice
2 ½ Cup of Flour
Optional:
Frosting
Raisins

Use a mixer to blend sugar, shortening, molasses and water in a large bowl. Beat on medium speed 1 minute and add rest of ingredients. Cover and place in refrigerator for approximately 2 hours, until chilled. Heat oven to 375, place dough on a flour surface and roll out to ¼ thicknesses. Cut out dough using your favorite cookie cutters and place on a cookie sheet to cook. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until cookie sets. Place on a cooling rack for 3-5 minutes, and then decorate with frosting or raisins. Makes about a dozen medium size cookies
