ABC with Food has just improved. We are adding more fun to this segment; your lil one will be able to explore his Alphabet using multiple senses: touch, sight, sound, taste and smell. The use of all five senses empowers the mind to retain information. So I encourage you to explore all the activities listed and have FUN…

Jelly Fish Craft
Supplies:
1-2 Large Coffee Filters Fishing string or Ribbon
Plastic Cup Food Coloring
Tissue Paper all colors Clear type
Smock/Old tee shirt (cover clothing) Wax paper
Cookie sheet
Instructions:
1. Line your cookie sheet with wax paper and place coffee filters in center of cookie sheet. Use your imagination and place small drops of food coloring on to coffee filters. Children love to watch the drops spread, continue placing different color drops until you are happy with the colors.
2. Thread fishing string through the base of a plastic cup so it hangs upside down. Then thread the string thought the base of the coffee filters so it hangs upside down over the cup.
3. Now you are ready to cut long strips of tissue paper and tape at the base of the cup and onto the filter. Add ribbon and make sure you can not see the cup; this makes the Jellyfish’s tentacles.
Jelly Roll
3 Eggs
1 Cup of Sugar
1/3 Cups of Water
1tsp. of Vanilla
¾ Cup of Gold Medal all-purpose Flour
1tsp. of Baking Powder
¼ tsp of Salt
2/3 Cup of Jelly or Jam
Powder Sugar
Foil
Shortening
Cheese cloth/towel
Heat oven to 375, line a jelly roll pan (15 ½ x10 ½ x1 inch) with foil then grease with shortening. Beat eggs using a blender on high until thick and lemon color. Gradually beat in flour, baking powder and salt until smooth. Pour into pan spreading evenly. Bake until you can insert toothpick in center and it comes out clean, approx. 12 to 15 minutes. Generously sprinkle powder sugar on a towel a little larger then the cake. Immediately loosen cake from pan and turn over onto towel. Carefully remove from foil, trim off any crisp edges and while hot carefully roll cake and towel from narrow end. Let cool on wire rack at least 30 minutes. Unroll cake and remove towel. Beat jelly with fork just enough to soften; spread over cake. Roll cake and sprinkle with powder sugar. Makes 10 servings
