Let’s fly a Kite
Supplies:
Construction Paper
Colors or paint
2- Straws
Tape
String
Ribbon
Scissors
Instructions:
Take a large piece of construction paper, color or paint pictures, then let dry. Cut out a large diamond shape from the middle of the paper. Punch a hole in all four ends of the diamond. In the top hole place the straw in both ends and tape down. Take another straw and cross your first straw and secure with tape. You should have a cross made of straw on the back side of your kite. Tie a string in the center; take curly ribbon and make a tail. These are fun to hang outside in a tree or off a deck.
“Kart-Wheels
1 ½ Cup of Gold Medal all-purpose flour
½ Cup of margarine or butter, softened
¼ Cup of powder sugar
½ Tsp. of baking powder
2 Tablespoon of milk
1 Cup of pie filling or jam
Heat the oven to 375, mix flour, margarine, powder sugar, baking powder and just enough milk until dough forms. (If dough seems dry, mix in more milk) Divide the dough into 6 equal parts and shape each part into a ball. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Make an indentation, 1 ¾ inches in diameter and about ¾ inches deep, in center of each flattened ball. Fill each indentation with about 2 tablespoons of pie filling. Bake until the edges begin to brown, 20-25 minutes. Makes 6 “Kart- Wheels”
