Pirate Treasure Map

Supplies:
Brown Paper Bag
Tea or Coffee (1/2 Cup)
Lemon Juice
Paint Brush
Markers
Scissors
Blow Dryer
Rope
Instructions:
Take your brown paper bag and cut your desired size/shape. Then tear the edges to create an old world feel (Adults can burn edges if desired). Now place paper bag on a cookie sheet or tray with sides. Take your tea or coffee and pour over bag. You can pour excess liquid off and then use a blow dryer to dry the paper quick or place in sun until dry. After dry crinkle up the paper bag and make it wrinkly. Then flatten your piece of paper out again. This gives the map an old look to it.
Now you are ready to create the map. Take a paint brush and draw an X with the lemon Juice, then dry. After the lemon juice dries the X will be invisible. To reveal it you will need to hold the map over a light bulb. Have the kids draw doted lines to the X, create obstacles like boulders, trees, sand pits, skulls, blood waterfalls, and any other obstacles that would make it difficult to find the treasure. Place a title on your map like Black Skull Hill, then roll up your map and tie your rope around it. Tip: Take your map outside and try and find your treasure.
