ABC Fun Letter "X"

“X-tra-Special” Celebration Cake

3Cups of Flour
2 Cups of Sugar
½ Cups of Cocoa
2 Tsp. of Baking Soda
1 Tsp. of Salt
2/3 Cups of Vegetable Oil
2 Tsp. of Vinegar
1Tsp. of Vanilla
2 Cups of Cold Water
1 Tub of ready spread frosting
Pastel mint wafers, flattened gumdrops or fruit gems Shoestring licorice


Heat the oven to 350 and grease 2 round pans 9x1 ½ inches. Dust with flour. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a large bowl. Mix oil, vinegar and vanilla. Stir oil mixture and water into flour mixture real hard until well blended. (About 1 minute) Pour batter into pans, dividing evenly. Bake until a wooden toothpick inserts in center comes out clean. (About 35 minutes) Let cool 10 minutes, remove from pans and continue cooling until completely cooled. Place a small amount of icing on top of one cake and gently place the other cake on top. Continue frosting until cake is completely frosted. Place wafers, gum drops and licorice on top of cake making balloons.
