With the re-opening of the new Dorrance Planetarium, we are proud to be the first science center in the WORLD to showcase a state-of-the-art NanoSeam dome! With this cutting-edge technology, visitors will be fully immersed in the imagery of the galaxy; transported on animated journeys through cells, Earth, space and time, as well as the astronomical marvels of our beautiful Arizona night skies.

Starry Storytime - Our youngest visitors will enjoy this opportunity to find things in the sky while hearing stories about the stars and visiting planets along the way.

Arizona Skies - Come hear stories about the different constellations up this time of year, and discover the current night sky. This show concludes with a spin through the cosmos.

Stars of the Pharaohs -Travel to ancient Egypt and discover how the Egyptians used the night sky to tell time. Identify the many Egyptian contributions to the modern science of astronomy and hear stories of past Pharaohs and how their relationship to the sky influenced their reign. Come on down to Park West Mall on Thursday night for lots of fresh produce from Stella at Horny Toad Farms, gluten free products, great local honey, home made jams and syrups, organic wheat grass and more!!!! Celebrate Sahuaro Ranch’s historic grapefruit and orange trees and all things citrus! Enjoy citrus-themed entertainment, cooking demonstrations, baking contest, and special citrus activities, plus pick some citrus to take home! It happens Saturday, January 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Sahuaro Ranch Park Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave.

As part of the city's year-long Centennial celebration, the event will feature a debut of the Centennial Cookbook called A "Taste of Glendale - 100 years in the Making," which will include more than a dozen recipes from Glendale's people and history. Cooking demonstrations will include some of the cook book recipes and cooks! Also enjoy a Community Breakfast presented by the Glendale Ambassadors from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Get your day started with a delicious breakfast and enjoy the Citrus Zestival. $5 for adults and $3 for children.
