Pizza
Ingredients:
2 ½ to 3 Cups of all-purpose Flour
1 package active dry yeast
1 Tsp. salt
1 Cup of warm water (115-120 degrees)
2 Tab. of cooking oil
Tomato Sauce
1 pound bulk Italian sausage or 6 oz. pepperoni
2 to 3 Cups shredded mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or Swiss cheese
Sliced Vegetables of choice (Green Peppers, Onions, Mushrooms, Green Chili)
Directions:
Crust: in a large mixing bowl combine 1 ¼ cups of the flour. Add yeast and salt to mixture. Stir in warm water and oil. Beat on low speed for ½ minute, scraping bowl sides constantly. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Stir in as much of the remaining flour as you can mix in with a spoon. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead in enough remaining flour to make moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic (6-8 minutes total).
Thin Crust: Cover dough and let rest 10 minutes. For 12 – inch pizzas, divide dough into half. On a lightly floured surface roll each half into a 13-inch circle. Transfer circles of dough to greased 12-inch pizza pan or baking sheets. Build up edges slightly. Bake on 425 in oven about 12 minutes or till lightly browned. Spread cooled tomato sauce over hot crust. Add toppings, and then return to oven baking for 10-15 minutes or till bubbly. Makes two 12- inch pizzas
