Perfluoroocatanoic acid???
What's that you say? Are you kidding? I can barely pronounce that! In fact, it's one of those words they had to give an acronym to, PFOA.
That's not the only one, here's a couple more:
PBDE's Flame retardants
BPA Found in some baby bottles
I'm hearing these names/acronyms more and more when it concerns the enviroment.

And have you heard about something called the "Eastern Garbage Patch"? It's a place in the Pacific ocean that's double the size of Texas, that has loads of junk in it!! We're talking in the middle of the ocean! Contained in it is anything from plastic bags and nets to ropes and bottles.
I invite you all to read a very fascinating article written by Susan Casey. The story is about Captain Charles Moore and how he came across this Garbage Patch on his way home to Southern California from a sailing contest in Hawaii. He has since founded the Algalita Marine Research Foundation.
Please go to www.cdnn.info/news/article/a071104.html to read the whole story. I'm sure after reading it you will, as I have, start looking at garbage and trash and the idea of recycling, in a whole new light, possibly with a "greener" eye.
