Netsmartz Workshop

Lately I have been trying to find ways to enhance my website and Blog. One of the things I was looking for was a place where parents and children alike could find information, games and other resources on the World Wide Web that was safe and reliable.

Netsmartz.org is a leader in safety education for children, parents, and educators. This site was created by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); the goal was to create a movement toward a safer Internet experience. Created in 2001 it has grown into a comprehensive internet program offering safety materials for kids, teens, parents and educators.

Netsmartz.org has a lot to offer and will educate, engage, and empower those using the resource. Here is a quick look at some of the things you will find on the website.

Parent/Guardian- Information for parents on ways to protect their children on the internet Education, resources and information about current internet issues

Educators- Resources for teachers and administrators providing helpful materials for students and class rooms.

Law Enforcement- Resources that can be used to educate and support their communities.

Teens- Real-Life Stories about issues affecting teens on the Internet such as cyber bullying, online enticement, and giving out too much personal information.
