Money Game
Use your lil ones curiosity about money to cash in on counting and one-on-one correspondence practice. To prepare for this activity, draw a simple wallet on each of ten envelopes. Seal the envelopes then laminate them. Then slit the top of each envelope front (creating a pocket to hold money). Use a permanent marker to write on the front of the wallet 1-10 and then give your toddler enough play money to count enough money for each wallet. You can also create a store in your living room with toys taking turns being the cashier and the other being the buyer.
No credit cards allowed!
Mud Pie
1 Cup of Granulated Sugar
½ Cup of Margarine, Melted
1/3 Cup of Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1/3 Cup Cocoa
¼ tsp. of Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 Eggs
1 Cup of Chopped nuts-Optional
¼ Cup of Fudge Sauce or Fudge Ice-cream topping
1Cup of Chilled Whipping Cream
2 tab of Powder Sugar
Heat the oven to 325, grease a round pan, 81/2x11/2 inches, with shortening. Mix sugar, margarine, flour, cocoa, salt, vanilla and eggs in a medium bowl. Stir in nuts and pour into pan. Bake until edge appears dry and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean (center will be moist), 35 to 37 minutes. Immediately prick holes in pie with a wooden pick, and then spread fudge sauce on top. Cool completely. Beat whipping cream and powder sugar in a chilled small bowl on high speed until stiff; spread over fudge sauce. Drizzle with 2 to 3 tablespoons additional fudge sauce. Store pie in refrigerator and makes 6 to 8 servings.
